The La Mortella Gardens in Ischia (Forio), which are located on the splendid Zaro promontory in the municipality of Forio d’Ischia, are one of the most beautiful gardens in Europe as well as one of the most popular attractions of the entire island of Ischia. The La Mortella Gardens are structured on two levels, the Hill and the Valley characterized by the presence of numerous exotic plants interspersed with lakes, fountains, swimming pools and more. In the gardens, there are three greenhouses of tropical plants: the Orchid Greenhouse where you can admire a special variety of orchid “the Miltassia Lady Walton”, the Victoria House greenhouse, with the Victoria Amazonica, an aquatic plant typical of the Amazon, and finally the Temple of the Sun, where there are the bas-reliefs by Simon Verity dedicated to Apollo.
